Weight Loss Plan

My Weight Ticker
I'm starting another weight loss plan. I really need to get this started. I thought it would be wise to start a week before the New Year. I need as much of a head start as I can get. Tomorrow will be Day 1 of my work out and diet. I need to lose some weight before we head to San Diego in April. Adam and I will be meeting Grandma Dolores's family for the first time. Also, it is supposed to be Adam's 10 year reunion. I'm hopeful and excited!

Christmas 2009

It's 2:34 p.m. and babies are finally taking a nap from a long Christmas morning. This is Alden and Ammon's 2nd Christmas. This year they are beginning to understand Christmas, at least the opening of presents part. They didn't really care what was inside, but they sure enjoyed opening presents.
It was fun getting them out of their crib and see their eyes light up to more presents.

They started playing with toys they had gotten from Grandmaleta's at the Christmas Eve party. She sure knows how to spoil her grandkids. They got A LOT of stuff. We preplanned not to buy too many toys because we knew this would happen. The boys have a short attention span, so after we opened all the toys from grandma, which felt like one minute, We decided to get our presents. They remembered from yesterday's party how to open the presents. But because there wasn't a room full of presents they looked at them and played with these presents. From us they got: a live Elmo, flash guns, Mr. Potatoe Head, and some cars. The list would go on and on if I listed Grandmaleta's presents. She did a great job though.

After that, they began to get restless so we knew it was time for breakfast. I decided to make my mom's traditional Red, White, & Green Christmas Waffles. They are green waffles topped with whipped cream and strawberries. Alden loved them, especially the strawberries. Ammon didn't want anything to do with it. We tried giving him other things, but he was set in his way.
We cleaned up, because we knew that Grandmaleta was coming over and Grandma Judy. They at least needed a place to sit down. Alden and Ammon love seeing their grandparents. They showed them their toys and gave hugs and open mouthed kisses.
Next, we decided to visit Uncle Bryon and give him and his family their presents. It was fun seeing everyone in their pajamas. They all got spoiled with fun things. My brother and his wife do a great job of making Christmas special for each kid. We enjoyed their Honey Baked Ham and all kinds of assortments of chips and dip. They gave us a nice gift and we will certainly enjoy it tonight! The babies were getting cranky and wanted to be held the entire time, so we knew it was naptime.
So we packed them up and headed home. We got their milk ready and changed their diapers and put them down. As we were relaxing we could hear them laughing and giggling in bed. We knew they were tired, but they would not go to sleep. Then they started crying. And of course, both diapers were smelly and they threw their binkies out of the crib. So I changed them and gave them their binkies and again put them down. At first, Ammon refused to lay down, but I left and now...they are asleep.
I'm trying to be better by posting things as they happen. So hopefully, as my new year's resolution, I will keep you all updated.

Hogle Zoo with Grandma!

We went to Hogle Zoo and it was a blast! Alden loved the elephant. Ammon loved any water in sight. He seemed more interested in a puddle than any animal. They were really fun to watch. We got some tiger visors to keep the sun away. But as you can see in the pictures they didn't stay on long enough. Grandma was a big help in handling the twins. She was a sport getting them in and out of the stroller to let them see better. We took them through the Madagascar Exhibit. They really liked the turtles! It was a hot day and we drank lots of juice. I was really worried about dehydration. SO we had to get an icee. We finished up with the camels and it was too hot to stay any longer. They were pretty tired. They napped all the way home. What a fun day!

My First Crash...hitting a car that is.

Well...It finally happened. I hit a car! Nope, it wasn't a pole or a barrier. Every year I have to hit something stationary. It's just in the stars for me. And yes, my car is TOTALED. Friday, January 9th I had just dropped off the babies and was heading to work. Adam had called me in the morning and told me to drive EXTRA careful. He had seen many cars off the road, but I didn't quite make it. I was almost to work on 6000 West. I was heading down hill, when all of a sudden I see a Toyota 4 Runner in the road and Karen (she is on my team at Whittier Elementary)standing by her car. I tried to stop which was a mistake on an icy hill. That didn't work. I tried to turn left, then right, then any way that would not hit the Toyota. CRASH! It was over. My front end was smashed. The Toyota was protected from it's spare tire. This road was so dangerous that I almost got hit from behind me. That car was able to stop, but then got hit by another car. This road cost 7 cars and 3 of them work at Whittier Elementary. Luckily everyone was ok. Everyone else's car had minor bumps and dents. Mine is gone forever.
